Everything you need to know about LafaekStreet
What is LafaekStreet?
LafaekStreet is a civic engagement platform that empowers citizens of Timor-Leste to report infrastructure issues such as potholes, broken street lights, and drainage problems. The platform provides transparency through real-time tracking, data visualization, and blockchain verification.
How does the reporting system work?
Citizens can submit reports through our mobile app by taking photos of infrastructure issues, adding location details, and providing descriptions. Reports are verified using AI analysis and recorded on the Hedera blockchain for transparency. Government agencies can then review and respond to these reports.
What is blockchain verification?
Each report submitted through LafaekStreet is recorded on the Hedera blockchain network. This creates an immutable, transparent record that proves when a report was submitted and ensures data integrity. You can verify any report by checking its blockchain transaction details.
Can I see all reports on this dashboard?
This public dashboard displays all reports that have been marked as public by their submitters. Some reports may be kept private for security or privacy reasons. You can browse reports, view them on an interactive map, and see detailed statistics about infrastructure issues across Timor-Leste.
How are reports prioritized?
Reports are prioritized based on several factors including severity level (low, medium, high, critical), AI-generated priority scores, community upvotes, and the type of infrastructure issue. Government agencies use this information to allocate resources effectively.
How can I submit a report?
To submit a report, download the LafaekStreet mobile app. The Android version is available for testing now — scroll up to the Download section. iOS is coming soon. The app allows you to take photos, add location details, and describe the infrastructure issue. This public dashboard is read-only and displays submitted reports.
What languages are supported?
LafaekStreet supports three languages: Tetum (the national language of Timor-Leste), Portuguese, and English. You can switch between languages using the language selector in the navigation menu.
How is my data protected?
We take data privacy seriously. Personal information is protected and only public reports are displayed on this dashboard. Sensitive user data such as email addresses and phone numbers are never shown publicly. All data is stored securely with encryption and access controls.
Who can respond to reports?
Government agencies, municipal authorities, and contractors assigned to infrastructure maintenance can respond to reports. Their official responses are marked with a verified badge and displayed in the report details.
How can I get involved?
You can get involved by downloading the mobile app to submit reports, sharing the platform with your community, or emailing us at lafaekstreet@gmail.com if you represent a government agency or organization interested in partnering with LafaekStreet.

How It All Connects
Citizen takes photo → Flutter app uploads to S3 → FastAPI creates report → Nova 2 Lite validates image → Hedera records on blockchain → Nova 2 Multimodal generates embeddings
User asks question → hCaptcha verifies → Nova 2 Lite classifies intent → generates safe SQL → queries PostgreSQL → formats markdown response with suggestions
Agency logs in via hCaptcha + Email 2FA → views reports on map → reviews AI analysis → updates status → citizen gets notified → verify on HashScan
